✴️ PHRASE - শব্দগুচ্ছ ✴️
💠 Phrase কাকে বলে ?
◾Phrase :- Phrase একটি শব্দগুচ্ছ, যাতে কোনো Subject এবং Finite Verb বা Predicate থাকেনা, যা একটি Sentence - কে অর্থপূর্ণ করে তোলে।
🔹যেমন - (i) He is indeed a man of parts .
(ii) Life is not a bed of roses .
(iii) She has no kith and kin .
💠 Phrase কত প্রকার ও কি কি ?
◾প্রকারভেদ (Types of Phrases) :- Phrase সাধারণত নয় (9) প্রকার, যথা -
- Noun Phrase
- Adjective Phrase
- Verb Phrase
- Adverbial Phrase
- Prepositional Phrase
- Conjunctional Phrase
- Interjectional Phrase
- Participle Phrase
- Absolute Phrase.
1. Noun Phrase :- যেসকল Phrase বাক্যে Noun রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে Noun Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - (i) Weal and woes come by turns.
(ii) Life has its ups and downs .
👉 Noun Phrase তিন প্রকার, যথা -
(a) Appositive Phrase
(b) Gerund Phrase.
(c) Infinitive Phrase.
(a) Appositive Phrase :- যে Noun Phrase অন্য একটি Noun কে নতুন করে নাম দেয়, কৌশলগতভাবে বর্ণনা করেনা, তাকে Appositive Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - Kumar Sanu, my favourite singer is coming to Kolkata.
(b) Gerund Phrase :- যে Noun Phrase - এর শুরুতে "gerund" যুক্ত থাকে, তাকে Gerund Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - I love listening to music .
(c) Infinitive Phrase :- যে Noun Phrase - এর শুরুতে একটি infinitive থাকে, তাকে Infinitive Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - I love to listen to music .
2. Adjective Phrase :- যেসকল Phrase বাক্যে Adjective রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে Adjective Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - The girl is always full of life .
Raju is good for nothing .
3. Verb Phrase :- যেসকল Phrase বাক্যে Verb হিসাবে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে Verb Phrase বা Verbal Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - (i) My father has come round .
(ii) I was reading my favourite book yesterday .
4. Adverbial Phrase :- যেসকল Phrase বাক্যে Adverb - এর কাজ করে, তাকে Adverbial Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - (i) He left the house for good .
(ii) Once upon a time , he lived here.
5. Prepositional Phrase :- যেসকল Phrase একটি Preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয় এবং একটি Noun বা Pronoun দিয়ে শেষ হয়, অর্থাৎ যেসকল Phrase বাক্যে Preposition - এর কাজ করে, তাকে Prepositional Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - (i) We are on the way to Kolkata.
(ii) He could not come to school on account of illness.
6. Conjunctional Phrase :- যেসকল Phrase বাক্যে Conjunction রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে Conjunctional Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - (i) We started our journey as soon as the rain stopped.
(ii) Please come as quickly as you can.
7. Interjectional Phrase :- যেসকল Phrase বাক্যে Interjection রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে International Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - (i) Good evening , how do you do?
(ii) What a miracle ! She has come to the program.
8. Participial Phrase :- যে Phrase - এর শুরুতে একটি Present বা Past Participle থাকে, তাকে Participial Phrase বলে।
🔹যেমন - The women sitting by the river were gossiping.
9. Absolute Phrase :- যে Phrase - এর একটি Subject আছে, কিন্তু Finite Verb নেই এবং যা সম্পূর্ণ Sentence টিকে মূল্যায়ন করে শুধু একটি Noun কে নয়, তাকে Absolute Phrase বলে।
