Terrible Fire in Malda

Malda, 29th July, 2024 : A devasting fire broke out in Malda due to a gas cylinder leak, claiming two lives and injuring five others. The incident occurred on 29th July at Bahannakuri village, Malda. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condoled the deaths and announced compensation for the victims' families. She announced compensation of 5 lakhs for each of the deceased and 2 lakhs for each of the injured. The government has assured support for the affected families. An investigation into the incident is underway to prevent such tragedies in the future.
